Family Group Birth Certificate shows she was one of two children born in Bardon Hill Leicestershire. The certificate shows father George Blinko was a Stone Quarry worker in 1896
Born at 37 The Crescent, Bardon Hill. This was a new row of Stone quarrymen cottages and Jinny was mother Amelia’s second child born in this cottage.Photograph taken of Bardon Hill Quarrymen that it seems father George Blinko was present . Circled the image resembles a very close likeness to George.
Martha at age about 16-17 George Blinko supplied this postcard presumably something handed down fron his Aunt . No writing on the reverse side but again re-enforces Martha Jane spent time at Aldenham School in 1910 and 1911 (census) and was a Domestic Servant in the house of Mr Beevors. Postcard above was sent to Aldenham School near Elstree, Jinny was here in 1910 she was almost 15 and could have been in domestic service. The postcard I think says “Dear Jinny, Hope you are getting all well.Has HS ? called for the jars. I saw your grandmother on Sunday and your mother in church on Sunday night. We stayed Friday in London? don’t forget the box __ and our Ro_ Hope you are well love from Maude” This is believed to be Maude Shrimpton (born Long Crendon) who was in 1911 Census also a Domestic Servant at Aldenham. Maude a bit older (8 years) may well have been the person that got Martha the job at the School. Dated 15th August 1915 from Field Post Office England Handrawn by Harry and sent from Wiltshire (Salisbury Plain training camp) 15 Aug 1915, reads Dear Jenny, I got down here alright. I expected I shall see you again next Thursday, we are going to have our 6 days farewell leaf (sic).Brother Harry’s hand drawn postcard front

In 1917 step-brother Wilfred Oxlade send two postcards to Jinnie in 1917, both postcards had photos of Wilfred on the front as it seems was quite customary in those times. These were in the possession of nephew George Blinko who sent them to me in the 2000’s
